Sorry for the lack of updates, it's been a busy few (more like several) months at the Maynard household! Between summer fun, birthdays, mom graduating nursing school, mom & dad getting married, starting my second year of preschool and lots of other good stuff, there hasn't been any time left for blogging. Every time we drive by the "quarium" I ask Mom if we can go see Nemo...so, she took me & Krew to see the fishies again. I thought the penguins were hilarious when they jumped in and out of the water and swam really fast! Krew & I both thought the jellyfish were pretty cool too.

Christmas 2010

Christmas was a three day event again this year. We have so much family that we have to celebrate with some of them early just so we can see them all! On the 23rd of December we celebrated at my Grandpa Kent's house. I got these kitties that I was super excited about!

On Christmas Eve we went to Grandma Kathy's house to celebrate. I got a dora the explorer book, a princess book set, a candyland game and some other fun stuff. As much as I loved all of these toys, my favorite entertainment of the night was this box that I played in with Mya & Avery...

We headed over to Grandma Carla's house later that night for more family fun & of course, more presents! I got a ladybug pillow pet that I really wanted. Then we went home, read a couple Christmas stories, and I went to bed so santa could come!

When I woke up on Christmas morning I was excited to see that Santa came to my house! The first thing I saw was my princess castle and right next to it was my shopping cart that I had asked Santa for. Of course my shopping cart immediately went into my princess castle, followed by every other present I opened after that.

We spent most of the day relaxing at home and went over to Grandma Mindi's for a little while to wish them a merry christmas. I got another pillow pet, this time a bumble bee which I loved, along with more stuffed kitties & puppies.

I finished off the day with a Christmas cupcake...it was the perfect end to a perfect day : )

Santa

I got to see Santa three times over the holidays! The first time I saw him was when we were shopping at Costco. I was so excited to see him but then when mom took me to talk to him I got scared and would barely even look at him. He told me to write him a letter, so when we got home mom helped me write a letter telling him what I wanted for Christmas. I told him I wanted a shopping cart, a dora doll, and a princess castle.

Then I went to see Santa with Krew & Kash at the mall. I cried and refused to go near him without mom holding me. No way was I going to sit on his lap! Later that day I told mom I wanted to see Santa again and that I would sit on his lap this time. Mom took me with a few of my (faux) aunties: Summer, Jamie (J5) & Lindsay (Boog). Once we got there I was too shy to sit on his lap so I made my mom & aunties sit with me.

Maybe next year I'll be brave enough to sit on his lap all by myself!

Holidays

Playing catch up again...it's been a busy few months! I'll start with Halloween. I was a "yadybug". I just loved wearing my costume and thought I looked so cute! I got to go trick or treating with my cousins Krew, Mya, & Avery. We only went to a few houses because it was rainy & cold! (Daddy has all those pics on his computer....here are some pics from carving pumpkins & Discovery Gateway)

Moving on to Thanksgiving. We had Thanksgiving lunch at my Grandpa Kent's house then went to Grandma Carla's house for dinner. As usual I had a great time being crazy with all of my cousins.

My new cousin, Kash James, born on September 16th, 2010 at 8:02 am. He weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. I was so excited to meet him, I kept telling Mom I couldn't wait to tickle his toes! Congrats to my Auntie Beth & Uncle Ken : )

Krew got to come hang out at my house for the weekend while Aunt Beth was in the hospital. Mom took us to see Nemo at the Aquarium! I loved the fishies but was scared of the sharks. Krew of course couldn't get enough of the sharks.

We also went up to the mountains for some breakfast at the Brighton cafe & a walk around silver lake. Krew & I were excited to see some squirrels! We tried to catch them but they ran too fast.

In July we took a trip up to Idaho to visit my G-Pops and JP. They have horses, llamas and chickens, all of which I couldn't get enough of. Well the horses and the chickens anyway, the llamas not so much. Every morning I would wake up and say "horsies & chickens" first thing, so G-Pops or JP would take me to see them. I even helped JP & Uncle Brock feed the chickens and the horsies! And I got to collect the eggs that were hatched, although I tried to give one back to the chickens to eat and it broke : P

Another Wedding...

Our last wedding of the summer was Auntie Neath & Uncle Marshall's. They got hitched on July 17th at Cactus & Tropicals. Their wedding was beautiful! Mom got to be a bridesmaid again. My favorite part was running around playing with all the water in the fountains and checking out the fish in the pond! Oh and dancing of course : ) Heart you Neath & Marshy!

For the 4th of July we went to Murray Park to watch the fireworks after my birthday party. Then the next night we did some fireworks in front of our house. Krew & I thought the fireworks were okay but the ice cream kept us much more entertained!

I turned two on June 29th. I'm such a big girl! For my birthday Daddy took me swimming (Mom had to go to clinicals for school, boo) and when Mom got home I got to open my birthday present...I got a princess bike! I immediately had to get my kitties to put on the back so they could take a ride with me. Krew came over to play and we ended up having a water fight! I had a blast spraying Krewser (and myself) with the hose. Then Grandma Kathy & Papa Mike came over to give me some presents. All week Mom had been asking what I wanted for my birthday and every time my answer was "cake." So we ended the day with cupcakes & ice "cweam," my favorite : )

We had my birthday party a few days later at the park. All of my friends and family came, it was a good time! Mom made me a cake which I loved (until Krew stole my fork and I threw a fit)! I decided that the theme this year was "it's my party and I'll cry if I want to..."

Some of my favorite things at this age are:

Flower Girl

I got to be a flower girl in Aunt Summer & Uncle Derek's wedding (back on May 24th)! Mom was worried that I would be scared and not walk down the aisle but I did a perfect job thanks to the cute little ring bearer, Taite, who held my hand : ) Their wedding was soooo beautiful. We all danced the night away and had a blast! Congrats Summy & Derek, love you guys!

It's been a busy summer! I am lucky to have the best Daddy in the world! He is always being goofy with me & making me laugh, teaching me new things, being so patient with me, and coming up with creative, fun new things to do all the time : ) Some of my favorite things to do with Daddy are: going to the park to swing, building forts (and hiding from Mom), swimming, playing frisbee golf, going on walks, riding around on his shoulders, having him "bite toes", and cuddling with him. I love you Daddy!

We had a busy busy Easter weekend this year! First we had an egg hunt at my Grandma Kathy & Papa Mike's house...

Then I got an Easter surprise in the mail from my G-Pops & JP, I was so excited!

On Easter morning I was a bit cranky and wasn't feeling too well. After a good long cry, I finally let Mom get me ready and we went up to Grandma Carla's for Easter brunch. I got a cute little wagon with a bunny, LOTS of jelly beans, and some other goodies which cheered me up a bit : )

After that we headed over to Aunt Beth's house to see my favorite Krewser. We played with bubbles and laughed our heads off together like we always do!

Finally we made it back home for some easter egg coloring (and a much needed nap!)

For the 4th of July we went boating up at Pineview and stayed in a condo on the lake overnight. I loved riding on the boat and also went for a fun tube ride with my mom, Aunt Beth & Krew. I missed out on the fireworks though, I was too sleepy from all the fun in the sun!

We went to California the last weekend in June over my birthday. We stayed in Newport Beach but Daddy's family stayed in Laguna Beach so we spent a lot of time there. Daddy's cousin Josh got married on Laguna Beach, it was beautiful. I had lots of fun playing with all my cousins, aunts, uncle, grandmas, grandpas and everyone else! I wasn't too sure about the ocean though, the water was way too cold for me.

I got to have two celebrations for my first birthday! I was in California on my birthday with Mom, Dad, & Daddy's family so Grandma Mindi got me a cake and we had a little party at the hotel. When we got back home we had a party at the park with the rest of our family & friends. It was a fun birthday and I got lots of great presents...thanks everyone!

My FIRST Birthday!!!

It's hard to believe I am a big ONE year old already! I turned one on June 29th but haven't gotten around to blogging because I've been too busy vacationing on the beach & partying but I'll tell you more about that later. The first year of my life has been amazing : ) I have been spoiled since day one by Mom, Dad and all of my many Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and everyone else that loves me! Mommy & Daddy tell me I'm the best thing that ever happened to them. They fell in love with me the minute they saw me and and I bring so much happiness to them each & everyday! I adore them too, I just love to smother them with kisses & loves.

Here's a look back at the first year of my life...

Some of my favorite things now are: Eating! I love to eat if you can't tell. My favorite foods are cheese and ice cream. I am learning how to sign and I am doing new signs all the time! So far I can sign eat/food (this one's my favorite), more, mom, dad, dog, water, cold (this one makes me laugh!), shoe, milk, and cheese. I'm also starting to talk and can say mama, dada, baby, ball, duck, car, water (wa-wa), and bye. I am always waving at everyone and I make friends everywhere I go. I also love to clap my hands, give & blow kisses and play patty cake! I LOVE my care bears (I call them my babies) and cuddle, kiss & hug them all the time. Mommy & Daddy usually wake up in the morning to find me playing & talking quietly in my crib with all my care bears and stuffed animals. I am fascinated by pretty much all animals especially dogs, cats, & birds. My favorite thing to do is chase the kitty around the house. I can't quite walk on my own yet but I am getting close...watch out Mom & Dad (and Kitters)!

My friend Noah & his parents came to town last week so we went to the zoo with them (and Auntie Beth & Krewser) on Saturday. It was Mom & Me day at the zoo so they had all sorts of fun activities going on. I liked the bears and zebras the best but Mom & Dad said I would fit right in with the monkeys!

I got really excited when dad got a corn dog. I couldn't get enough of it!

10 Months

I'm ten months old today! Mom & Dad can't believe how big I'm getting. I am crawling all over the place, trying to walk, pulling myself up onto things and getting into everything! I love to wave hi & bye, clap my hands and still love to give lots of kisses : ) I have eight teeth now and have yet to find a food I don't like. I am just happy as can be...I make lots of high pitched squeals to prove it!

My favorite thing was the care bear : ) Then I went to church with Grandma Mindi & Grandpa Jeff and over to Great Grandma Carla's for an easter egg hunt. My new favorite thing to do is give kisses. I just love giving kisses to Daddy, Mommy, Krewser, my stuffed animals, & of course myself in the mirror : ) Most of the time they are big, open mouth slobbery kisses! Aunt Summer got a cute video of me giving kisses to the mirror but the format was weird and Mom couldn't upload it. Bummer.

Another one of my favorite things is Kitters. I LOVE her. Everytime I see her I oooh & aaah and try to get her. For some reason she doesn't like it when I pull her fur. She better watch out once I start crawling!

I like to try to feed myself. Unfortunately most of the food goes on my face, in my hair, on my clothes...pretty much everywhere but my mouth.

I have a new fascination with Mom's beanies. So colorful and soft!

I loved my first Christmas! I got to see almost all of my grandpas, grandmas, aunts, uncles, & cousins except for my G-Paps & JP who we're heading up to Idaho to see tonight : ) Since I've been such a good girl Santa brought me lots of fun toys including my first purse, a doll, a puppy, a ball, and a cookie monster, not to mention clothes, dvds, and a bunch of other cool stuff! I'm a spoiled baby...thanks Santa!

My first Thanksgiving

My first Thanksgiving was a really long day for me! We went to Grandpa Kent's house first for a delicious feast and then to Grandma Carla's house for another! I had fun playing with my cousins but refused to take a nap because I didn't want to miss out on the fun. So needless to say, by the second dinner I was one tired baby.

We had the first big snowstorm of the season a few days ago. Mommy put me in my snowsuit so we could go play in the snow. Mom & Dad can't wait to teach me to snowboard in a couple years!

Happy Halloween

My first Halloween was lots of fun! We carved pumpkins at Grandpa's house earlier this week and I got to see all my cousins in their cute costumes. I dressed up as a chili pepper & I loved my outift! It was so cozy and warm. Yesterday mom took me into her work for their Halloween party. Everyone loved me of course! Then Aunt Summer brought over her puppies and we all played in the leaves in the backyard. I wasn't quite sure what to think of the puppies...I wanted to touch them but I got kind of scared and made the funniest faces when they got too close to me! After that Grandma Mindi came to get me to watch me overnight so that mom & dad could go to a Halloween party. We got some pictures together before I left. Mom dressed up as an eskimo, dad dressed up as a pirate...we didn't match but we still looked cute together!

I can't believe I'm turning four months old this week! I'm growing up way too fast. I already have two teeth coming in! Other than not being able to sleep as well lately because of my teeth bugging me, the last few weeks have been fun filled.

Aunt Summer took me to the zoo for my first time last week!

She also labeled me with her new label maker, just in case she forgot my name : )

Sometimes I like to chill inside dad's hoodies. It's such a comfy place for a little boodle like me!

Mom & Dad took me for a Sunday drive up the canyon to see all the pretty leaves and have breakfast at the Brighton Cafe.

Last but not least, I'm almost sitting up on my own!

I have a new buddy named Noah. He & his mom Katie, who is mom's good friend, live in Oregon. They came out to see us last week. He's 7 months old and is just the cutest baby boy ever. We had so much fun playing together! Mom & Katie had a good time too. They had girl's night out, went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory, and up to Oktoberfest at Snowbird. I wish they lived closer so Noah & I could have play dates all the time! Hopefully mom & dad will take me up to Oregon to visit them soon. We miss them already!

Mom & Dad took me camping for my first time this weekend! They didn't want to take me too far away from home so we went up to the spruces in Big Cottonwood Canyon. My aunts Summer & Jess came too, along with Derek, Neal, Thomas, & Hayden. We had such a good time! They cooked up some delicious food for dinner and of course had smores for dessert. It was a nice night with some sprinkles here & there. I was so cozy in my warm bear suit that I pretty much slept the whole time! I can't wait to go to the mountains again!

Two Months

Mom & Grandma took me to the doctor the other day to get my 2 month immunizations. I was so good for the doctor...he was amazed at what a calm & easy going baby I am. I only cried for a minute after my shots. I think mommy was more sad about it than I was! I still keep smiling more all the time and Mom & Dad are anxiously waiting to hear my first laugh! Mom likes to take lots of pictures of me since I seem to just get cuter everyday. Here are some of the latest & greatest!

Idaho Bound!

We headed out to Idaho last weekend to hang out with G-Paps. The car ride was not that bad I only made mom and dad pull over once to feed me on the way there and on the way home I slept the whole time.

While in Idaho we had some really good food, dad and G-Paps went to play frisbee golf, we hung out at the firepit. I saw live animals up close for the first time. I saw horses, llamas, sheep, chickens and some other little critters.
